Meet Alison Wells

Alison’s Story

Born in Buntingford, England, and now based in Winnipeg, Alison lives with her husband and rescue dog, Kai. She is a retired educator, academic author, and passionate storyteller with a PhD in education.

After years of inspiring minds in the classroom, Alison now channels her creativity into writing middle-grade fiction that explores themes of family, belonging, and environmental conservation—centred around her love for whales and the ocean.

As a mother, grandmother, and lifelong lover of nature, she dedicates herself to teaching the next generation about the importance of family, friends, and protecting our planet. Through her stories, she hopes to inspire young readers to care deeply for the world around them.

In her free time, Alison enjoys reading, knitting, painting, and bike riding. When she’s not immersed in a good book or crafting her next whimsical tale, you might find her riding her bike along the creek at the end of her street, or letting the warm prairie sun inspire her next story.
